WNC Roofing recently completed a large commercial reroofing project at the historic Judson Mill property located in Greenville. Working with Caldwell Constructors, our team installed a multi-system roofing package designed to improve drainage, durability, energy efficiency, and long-term roof performance.
The project started with a full safety setup that included staging areas, safety lines, equipment placement, and protected loading zones to keep the jobsite safe and organized.
Next, our crew completed a full tear-off of the existing roof systems down to the wood decking. All roofing debris was properly removed and disposed of throughout the project.
Some structural wood deck replacement was also needed. After the roof deck was cleaned and inspected, we began installing the new roofing systems. Our team installed two layers of 1.75-inch polyiso insulation with staggered joints to create an R-20 insulation system and help increase energy efficiency.
We then installed new Carlisle 60 mil TPO roofing systems that were mechanically attached according to manufacturer specifications. This system was designed to provide long-term waterproof protection while also improving energy efficiency.
One major focus of the project was improving drainage. Our team installed tapered insulation and crickets where needed to help move water off the roof and reduce the chance of standing water.
In areas receiving metal roofing, we installed high-temp peel and stick underlayment beneath the new metal roofing system; 24-gauge standing seam metal roofing panels with 1.5-inch ribs.
The project also included custom edge metal, coping, gutters, and downspouts built to match the needs of the property and improve long-term performance.
Another unique part of the project was preparing roofing systems for a future rooftop amenity area. This included waterproofing beneath raised deck systems, installing pedestal systems for pavers, and tying together both TPO and standing seam metal roofing systems; new Hanover concrete pavers.
This roofing system included a 20-year Carlisle TPO material warranty, a 2-year workmanship warranty, and a 30-year finish warranty on metal systems.
