WNC Roofing recently completed a commercial roofing project for RussNick Properties LLC. Located at 411 7th Ave in Hendersonville, North Carolina, this project required a strong, weather-resistant flat roof update for both upper and lower roof sections. Our team delivered a durable system built to stand up to the elements for years to come.
Every successful job starts with careful preparation. Before starting construction, our crew held a safety and strategy meeting to review work hours, equipment staging, and project milestones. We set up safety lines along all roof edges, arranged dedicated dumpster areas for waste, and prepped the building for active work.
Our crew kept the existing roof deck structure in place while installing a completely fresh waterproofing system on top.
- We removed old perimeter edge metal so it could be recycled. New solid wood blocking was added along the outer edges to create a sturdy frame for the new roofing pieces.
- We added a layer of 1.5-inch Polyiso insulation board across the roof to increase energy efficiency.
- To keep standing water from collecting near rooftop machinery, we built custom sloped structures called crickets. These direct water away from air units and toward the roof edges.
- We installed a white 60 Mil Carlisle TPO single-ply roof membrane. This reflective outer layer helps block heat and creates a watertight seal across the roof surface.
- We sealed all pipes and rooftop penetrations with TPO flashings. The membrane was run up and over the perimeter parapet walls, fully protecting the edges against rain.
- We added new commercial 7-inch box gutters and large downspouts. These gutters feature flexible expansion joints that allow the metal to expand and contract during hot and cold seasons without leaking.
After completing the roof layer and gutters, our crew gathered all equipment and did a complete site clean-up. We finished the job with a joint inspection alongside a building manager. The new flat roof system includes a 20-year Carlisle material warranty and a 2-year workmanship warranty. We are so glad this Hendersonville business chose us for their roof work!
