Replacing An Old Built Up Roof

We performed a full tear off and roof replacement for this client. We removed the old and leaky built up roof(BUR) down to the wood decking. Much of the decking was rotted and the insulation was also soaked. We replaced with new insulation and wood decking before installing a layer of 2″ Polyiso with staggered joints and mechanically fastened. We installed a tapered insulation package to reduce standing water and force water toward the drains and gutters.

We replaced the drains with retro-fit drain that have a heavy duty aluminum clamping ring and strainer. The vent pipes were extended to the code required 8″ above the roof deck. 

To finish the roof off, we laid down Carlisle 60 mil TPO roof membrane and mechanically fastened it. The parapet walls were finished with new commercial grade 24 gauge metal coping with a kynar finish.

The new TPO roof received a 20 year manufacturer and material warranty. Now residents are enjoying a leak free roof in the beautiful Laurel Park community.
